News Update!

I have no real updates, only random weird news. This article is about how Senator Robert Ford wants to outlaw profanity with offenses punishable with up to 5 years in prison or $5,000 in fines.

This man should be nowhere near politics, wasting taxpayer money on something this ridiculous. He should be charged and made to reimburse the taxpayers for this waste.

Blog Problems

Since I've started using blogger.com for all my journaling needs I've noticed a strange problem with cross posting to my LiveJournal account. I have my blogger.com account set to email my post to livejournal and post it that way.

What seems to be happening is at some point the formatting gets stripped from my post. What began on my blogger site as a nicely formatted post with paragraphs and everything becomes a block-like turd on LJ.

I've had blogger send the email to my address and it looks like the problem may be the way that LJ parses the email. I'm including HTML line break codes to see if that fixes the problem.

Screw you MPAA, RIAA, AAA, AARP

Okay the last two don't really deserve the harsh langauge. I like my triptiks and plan on living long enough to take advantage of the benefits of being an AARP member... but my point is:
Monty Python has a youtube channel. They have uploaded their own HQ quality clips and even replaced the most popular clips from youtube with new HQ ones. While the rest of the movie/music/television industry is complaining about how sites like youtube are ripping them off the nice Monty Python chaps are offering their content for free.
Has this hurt their DVD sales? Apparently not. Since the inception of the Monty Python Youtube channel their DVDs have jumped to the number 2 spot on Amazon.com's bestseller list and sales of their DVDs have increased over 20,000 percent.

Chrysler Buys Ads Thanking You For Tax Money, You Get Pissed, Chrysler Censors You

This is an article posted to the Consumerist.com. The comments are pretty much what I expected to see. Here's a sad little saga. After convincing our government that it was responsible enough and commercially viable enough to deserve a multi-billion-dollar bailout, Chrysler spent some of the money taking out full page ads in The Wall Street Journal and USAToday, thanking America for its money. They also posted these ads proudly on their blog. The reaction from actual Americans was, um, harsh. The blog post in question had been gathering comments up until, we can only assume, it was pulled after becoming popular on Digg about 6 hours ago. Thankfully Google has a cache of the page, so you don't have to miss it http://consumerist.com/5137457/chrysler-buys-ads-thanking-you-for-tax-money-you-get-pissed-chrysler-censors-you

16:35 I have just finished dealing with a problem order from 12/19 that came back to haunt me for 6 hours today.

17:32 Ally just told me "You're my favorite husband. When I get husband #2 - the one with the money, I'm going to keep you on the side.":

WTF Work Day

I've been dealing with a customer on an order that I did on 12/19/08. This was an order to Cancel about a dozen LLCs for one of our larger NY customers. Today we got a call from the firm in Houston who claims to own the companies wondering why we cancelled these companies without their authorization. *Begin Headache Now* So we have to figure out who actually owns the companies and determine if we can un-cancel them or if we have to tell this Houston customer to stuff it. Both companies have records showing ownership of the LLCs Our records indicate that these belong to the Houston firm. The Houston company wants us to file the Corrections making the company active again and eat all the charges. We can't do that without making sure the NY company does not actually own them. To top it all off the Houston company has a closing this afternoon which requires that these LLCs be in good standing and the people in the NY company aren't available.

Black Dynamite

I saw a trailer for this the other day and was convinced it was a fake movie. It looks like a parody of the Blacksploitation films of 30 years ago. I highly suggest you all check out the site. There are two trailers, the red band is a rated R trailer and the green band is more work appropriate.

"So did my mama."
"Awww... Hush up little girls, lotta cats have that name."

Bailey Dog trust issues

Bailey trashed the house while I was gone. I thought I'd give her another chance alone without being crated. Bad idea. She got a box of tissues, two video games, two books, my menorah (just the candles thankfully), pens, highlighters, CD cases, my cellphone charger and one indistinguishable white plastic thing.

Is this the biggest cheque EVER? For Zimbabwe $1,072,418,000,000,000 ... or about £2

Officially the inflation rate in Zimbabwe is 2.2 million percent, however unofficially it's been calculated as high as 12.2 million. That's crazy. The article goes on to state that the newly created $100 billion note was no longer enough to buy a loaf of bread so they made a new $1 that is worth ten billion. Last Night's Dream

Last night I dreamed that one of our co-workers comes over for breakfast every morning. Sometimes she brings food, sometimes we cook... apparently she dines so frequently that she has a key to the place as well. Pretty interesting considering she's never come over to our house before.

Dad Started a Blog

So my father has been writing journal-type entries and notes for years now. I've been trying to convince him to start a blog since the beginning. He's finally decided to go for it. There are only two entries so far but I expect there will be many more (he's made over 300 of these writings) Some are humorous, some are serious. If you read them you can definitely tell where I get my sense of humor from. Here's one: Airlines Stink
